How do I pay a tutor on the Nimbus app?

Add a credit card under ‘account settings’. Payments are handled securely through Stripe.

How do I apply for the credit program?

Under the ‘home’ tab at the bottom of the page there will be an ‘apply for credits’ button. Click this button and complete the subsequent prompts to apply for credits.

How do I use my credits to pay for tutoring sessions?

The credits that you have can be applied during the checkout process.

Does Nimbus Learning take a commission or add fees onto my payment to my tutor?

No, Nimbus Learning does not take any commission from tutors nor take any fees from your transaction. Depending on your school organizations, additional payment processing fees may be charged by Stripe and a service fee may be charged by the Institution or Organization. Please contact us for further information.

How can I access online session from my desktop?

  1. Visit https://web.nimbuslearning.com/. Please access only through Google Chrome or Firefox.
  2. Log in with your Nimbus log-in information.
  3. Provide sharing access to your camera and audio in your browser settings.

I'm a tutor — how do I get paid?

After applying and being hired, you will receive a confirmation and registration email from us. In the Nimbus Learning app you will need to set up your payment information with Stripe to enter your direct deposit information. Stripe processes the payment from your tutee right after your session, but the money may not be deposited into your bank account right away depending on your financial institution (times may vary).

Some Institutions choose to manage payroll internally; if this is the case, you will not have to set up with Stripe and your Institution will reach out to you on the steps to set up your payment.

How can I switch from a student to tutor profile (or vice versa)?

In the ‘my settings’ section in the top left corner, the app will prompt users to create a student account or apply to become a tutor. Once you have created the additional account with the settings you want, the button will say “switch to student profile” instead of “to create”. This button will allow you to switch between your two profiles seamlessly.

How do I reschedule a tutoring session?

  1. Go to your calendar and select “confirmed lessons.”
  2. Select the upcoming session you would like to reschedule.
  3. Select the “reschedule” button and select a new time and date that works for you!
